Hello everyone,

I have seen a few USA stamps that have blue cancels, that cost 3x to 4x as much as a normal cancel. Can anyone confirm that or anything.

For example I've found a jefferson with a blue cancel.

The Scott US Specialized catalog does a reasonable job of providing a catalog value premium by-stamp issue for various different colored, and other types of cancels.

The answer to your question is that whether a particular cancel demands a premium will vary by stamp-issue, but yes, things are priced that way. I don't have my Scott here now, but someone can probably look this up and let you know if blue carries any premium here. It might have a small bump.

If that is a Scott #73 , i.e. no fancy grill variety, then the catalog value for VF in my 2017 specialized is $60 for the stamp, with a $15 premium for a blue cancel. So cat $75 per the 2017 catalog.
