eBay does stuff without warning like hijacking the old myeBay page. I find this very frustrating!

My ebay login page, which I have bookmarked in my browser, changed this week............twice........

Change for changes sake. I've been on ebay for over 15 years and it's just about run its race with me

Yes, I am finding it irritating.
I used to snipe, and if/when I lost the item, I could take a quick screenshot for the sale price for my records.
Now, the second the virtual hammer falls, you are led to another ebay lot suggestion.
I'll still use it, no doubt, for the odd item, but it is not as an enjoyable process, as it once was. I'll endure.

at least some of us should agree to go with eBid, hipstamp or delcampe I see only more and more changes on ebay ahead that will make it bad for auction style sellers and buyers. ebay are moving towards catalog style listing whereby seller lists by finding the item in their catalog. Good for new goods, not so good for unique items like stamped covers. I see maybe a year left on ebay before I give up. Hope that eBid takes off.

I spoke with Sebastion Delcampe in person several years ago at the FUN show in Orlando. I expressed my concern over all the counterfeits on his site. His exacts words were, "I don't care as long as they pay their bill."

Then he wanted to take a picture with me for his Website/Facebook, I told him no freakin' way.

I know it's not ideal but I have a workaround for that. Use the following URL format just swap out the item number and you'll see the original item.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/382125380671?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true#itemTitle

Nowadays EVERY item I'm interested in, I take a screenshot. ebay changes too fast and it seems auction items are often pulled before completion, to my utter disgust and dismay. I suspect it is not always due to the seller taking action......

Fascinating.
Thank you very much. I'll give it a whirl.
legerdemain !

I was searching for a perfin catalogue, and happened upon a German ebay link, "see original listing" worked perfectly well there.

Update : ...worked a treat !

As if I didn't need another reason to stay the heck away from Delcampe.

Click on the word "listing" - it's a link to the closed lot.

Please keep in mind that not everyone gets a link back to the original listing. Depending on your browser/device and what route you took to get to the listing page, sometimes you get a redirected page that does NOT link back to the original item.

I've seen it firsthand. Admittedly, it's only about 10-15% of the time, but it does happen, in which case it's insanely frustrating.

I just keep items in my watch list; then you can still see how they ended.
