Stanley Gibbons New Imperial Stamp Albums

Has anyone seen the ongoing thread on another board re the efforts of the poster to at least partly fill these albums?

I was inspired to purchase a nice used set of these last year from a charity on the UK, selling items from an estate. The set I got apparently was never used. My efforts on it do not match those of the poster on the linked thread as I am collecting mostly used stamps. Still it's a joy to work on a project like this and occasionally see a page filled.

I'd love hearing from others also engaged in this madness.

A lifetime's work to get it close to filled, and I agree, these sorts of projects should be joyful. Having the catalogue in the album is helpful.

Getting a set of these albums second hand that hadn't been used is a good pick up! I believe these can cost a pretty penny.

Clean copies of the reprints, usually with some stamps, pop up on auctions here reasonably regularly, and aren't very expensive (unless the stamps are good). Now that SG is providing pre-1936 hingeless albums, I imagine that more will appear. My copy contains what auction houses term a "sparse" collection.
