I took a gander at recent ebay sales in the United States category with the filter set to highest price first and was stunned to see almost all cartel sales filling the first page along with one from the French photoshopper.

43 cartel sales on the first page totaling over $225,000 from May to July. This has been discussed ad nauseum but how can this activity go unchecked by ebay? It is simply stunning.

One has to consider the possibility that all, or most of this activity is just money laundering under the guise of stamp sales.

Please note that I didn't put any emphasis on the word "just".

Crooks will find a way to do their business in any seemingly innocuous human activity.

The cartel has dominated the high price sales in that category for a long time, at least 2 years. That's why I stopped calculating and reporting ebay sales by category.

The cartel also dominates the unused 19th century category. Wow.

I am a bit curious as to what the threshold must be for drawing the attention of U.S. federal, or state authorities. I feel certain that sophisticated or reasonably intelligent operators know how to "fly under the radar".

This is hardly flying under any radar. Good grief.

Perspective is most important here.

A significant amount of money to an individual may not be a significant amount to a governmental or corporate entity.

It sticks out like a sore thumb on ebay. You would think that ebay would wonder what is going on given that it has been years of this now and numerous people have reported these listings. The cartel is known to ebay and LE and yet on it goes. It is very strange. This is not rocket science.

Is NobileSpirit considered a cartel member? They seem to have the majority of the sales resulting from the above link.

The link was to show completed sales. For some reason it now shows open auctions. Why, I do not know.

Sold listings would facilitate a more accurate assessment but this SCF web site is creating problems with long URLs. After a few clicks, Microsoft Edge locked up. I tried pasting the URL from ebay sold items into from Microsoft Edge to Google Chrome and it worked correctly.

While it may be necessary to limit the length of acceptable URLs, the outcome should be an error message, not a truncated URL potentially useable by hackers for other purposes.

This web site has a problem, but so does ebay.

This one came up on the same page. Imagine paying almost $172 EACH for common US commemoratives. It has a Make Offer button on it. I wonder if he'll consider a $1 offer

One needs to remember that a seller doesn't need to pass an IQ test to sell on ebay. I'm sure every market on ebay has dreamer sellers.

I'm sure these swords are worth 10 million

https://www.ebay.com/itm/antique-sw..._TitleDesc=0

Sellers description

"antique swords from Chinese Dynasty"

Which dynasty you ask? Might not even be Chinese. ebay is loaded with kooks looking to get rich with attic findings. Not only are there dreamers but also lots of crooks.
