Rediscovered this hand canceled $1 postage due stamps that I received over 60 years ago. Now interested in origin and value. Also how did some glue disappear?

You could search this forum because this question has been asked ( several times ) before. It is a receipt for a stack of business reply mail - used to be done this way regularly
When I was a teenager I became friends with fellow at the post office who did the postage due for the local co-op. The bill for the co-op each week was a couple hundred dollars. He would save me the plate blocks and then staple the rest of the sheets to the actually bill.
