Figuring Out The Cancel On A Narcotic Stamp

Notice: very esoteric content!

I've been trying to figure out the cancelation on these narcotic stamps. They read "Arner 'Schering,'" along with two different registration numbers and dates.

Googling these two words, with the quotation marks, didn't come up with anything meaningful.

The quotation marks seemed important, somehow.

I did find that there was a pharmaceutical manufacturer named the Schering Corporation, but there didn't seem to be anything that tied them to an "Arner."

So I looked for these two names separately, and I found an Arner Company, which also made pharmaceuticals.

Further poking around in the Google playground revealed the below advertisement, and suddenly the cancel made sense.

I actually said out loud, "Ahaa!" I woke the dog by doing that though.

The Arner Company made pills and tablets for other manufacturers, and they never sold their products directly to stores or retail customers. They only advertised their products to other manufacturers.

So the below cancels show that Arner made a product, which they sent to the Schering Corporation, who in turn actually sold it.

This is why the Schering word is in quotation marks on these cancels.

There are probably other Arner cancels, with other company names in quotation marks. Do you have any?
