I've heard that SG is doing a major revision of its numbering system. I was looking for SG 1663a-1666 and couldn't find them on ebay. Has the renumbering begun already?

Well, more wonderful news from the company that cannot leave well enough alone.

I have all my checklists set up for my GB collections based on their numbering system. Hoping this will just turn out to be some minor adjustments. Given their record they will make a hash of it.

Stamps,

It sounded really comprehensive - especially with regard to Machins - according to what I've been reading over at the other site.

Their Machin system does need a re-think. It's become confusing to say the least, with this, that and the other variation getting a separate number system. It needs to be brought together.

Yes their Machin listings are a mess. That would not affect me much, don't do more than a basic collection on those. I moved my GB collection out of the Windsor albums and into Lighthouse last year over that and a few other such issues. I'm worried they will mess around with the numbering on the pre 1953 material.

OK, Here we go. I just searched for GB SG# Y1750, the 19p Elliptical Machin issued in 1994 on ebay. What came up was SG# Y1771 - the "new" SG number. The listing shows both numbers, the Y1771 being called "Ex 1750". I was able to find the stamp using the old number. Just a word of caution: Double check your order and make sure you are ordering what you want. Its very confusing. I also saw #Y1751 incorrectly identified as a 22p stamp on its listing. It should be a 20p stamp.
