I searched for the topic "removable mounts" but found nothing. But maybe I missed a thread?

The old Dennison stamp hinges are lovingly remembered for being easy to remove due to their glue formulation. Now that mounts have largely replaced hinges, are there any stamp mounts that can be removed after they're attached and dried? I know there are "no lick" stamp mounts now (from Davo, I think) but Im assuming that once those are attached to the page, they're just like other mounts in that you can't just 'pop' them off the page like you could with Dennison hinges.

This is not about letting the hinges/mounts dry first. I do realize that they have to dry before you remove them. But I don't think you can actually remove any stamp mounts even after they've dried -- or can you?

I've had some luck pulling mounts whose glue seemed to have dried off pages occasionally (and of course some just fall off the page for whatever reason). This does make the mount reusable which is nice. I don't think this is associated with any particular brand of mount, though. It would be nice for all mounts to be removable once they're dry, wouldn't it? As long as they remain on the page until you want to remove them, of course. Any thoughts?

Some ingenious people have used Dennison hinges on the back of mounts. This could be an option.

Double sided tape.

I used Dennison hinges in my Big Blue mounting.

Regardless of what 3M Corporation claims, no adhesive tape near any stamps or paper that I value.

Kirk, that was and is an interesting thread, but we still are not sure if these are available here. Also, the OP is asking if there are removable mounts in existence, and I believe the answer to that is "no".

I use the same Scotch double-side tape. Works great!

Scotch double-sided tape has been recommended here a few times, so I bought a roll and used it in a UN album to hold some larger items, UN mini-sheets, that were flopping around too much on their album pages. All of them -- All of them -- came loose within days. The tape was attached to the back of large mounts, and then to the page itself. The side that came loose was the one attached to the mount. So I take that to mean that double-sided tape will not hold onto plastic mounts well. So scratch that option. But maybe smaller mounts wouldn't stress the tape as much, so they'd hold individual stamps . . . ? Not sure.

As for glue sticks, they might work on mounts. But as with the larger mounts and double-sided tape, I think gluing plastic to paper seems unlikely to work. But it's worth trying, and I'll do that next chance I get.

The "post-it" notes type of glue, a glue that holds well until you want to peel it off, might not work on stamp mounts. But it would be an improvement if it did. If one of you could just hurry up and invent a removable glue that holds stamp mounts on pages well, I'd appreciate it very much.

I hope you are wrong, just about my entire collection is mounted this way.
Not one has let go as yet.
I use a strip about 3mm-5mm wide, to boot.

Caveat: "Removeable" could be debateable, I have lifted skewed mounts immediately, and within 2 days if mounted incorrect position.
Weeks old they tend to grab the page and leave a tiny thin (on the page)
I have not tried any methods of safe removal as yet, (releasing agents)
