Those meter strips on the tag must be quite scarce. These really are some esoteric items but boy the prices some of these bring in....... |

Quote: I wonder if anyone has a New Guinea 5.00 pound Bulolo on a gold shipment Tag? What a coincidence. I just saw one very recently! It came up in the philatelic estate of a friend who passed away some months back. I understand the widow has consigned it to an Australian philatelic auction house for sale by auction. |

Hi all, I was grateful to find this thread as I searched for clues on this bank tag I've had for a few years. Looks like they all have WF U perfins, which I've learned is Wells Fargo Bank and Union Trust, cataloged as "W-92" by the Perfin Club. As I am not a US collector, I may put it up on HipStamp for auction... |

What a lovely item this tag is. And Sacramento was the kind of small city (pop around 100,000) where the $5 Liberty would still be around to use. |

$34+ in postage not to mention the Wells Fargo matching perfins. Great tag. |

Scott Specialized does have catalog values for at least the 1938 Presidential dollar values on registered bank tags. Not sure about other issues. 832 is valued at $5 on registered bank tag, 833 is valued at $25 on registered bank tag and 834 is valued at $25 on registered bank tag. In 2003 Siegel sold a lot of 250 Federal Reserve bank tags for $2300 plus tip: https://siegelauctions.com/lot_grd....nwwin=q8zr4p |

Thanks everyone. Yes, the high face value ($5 in multiple of 5!) really caught my eye. And I work on Montgomery Street, just a block from the Wells Fargo museum .... |

I went ahead and listed my bank tag (shown above) on HipStamp for auction, as I don't collect US. Hope it goes to a good home! |

Without the mention here, I'll bet very few of us would ever see it on Hipstamps. ebay has much better visibility, etc. |
