Try visiting your public library first to see if they have the Scott catalogs for check out, reference, or perhaps through inter-library loan.
Bohemia and Moravia will be at the end of the Czechoslovakia listings in V2. EASTERN Silesia will be in the E section of V2. I assume that is the Silesia that is in the Scott Czechoslovakia specialty album, and not Upper Silesia (V6).
From 1993 onwards, stamps of Slovakia are in that country's listings in V5.
The Scott catalog does list some of the common color varieties, but in general, will not provide any more color information than what is listed in the space in the album. The catalog will, however, provide slightly better information regarding the minor design varieties (Types). My guess is that you specialty album probably only has text saying Type I, Type II, or "redrawn"... the catalog will describe the differences.
Or, you can always post a question and we'll try to answer it.
If you have trouble locating a catalog or don't want to buy the complete volume, then send me an email. I normally don't sell supplies, but I can probably sell you the pages ripped out of one of my spare catalogs. Since the pages will be the originals, there will be no copyright violations.

Thanks for the info! I might have to make a run to the library or Half Price Books to see if they have a copy later in the week just to browse through. I found a few on
Amazon from the mid-2000s that are only around $3 + $3 s&h...for $6-8, I figured I might just make the purchase and hope for the best. I like books anyway and a reference guide is always nice. I just didn't want to pay for something that was going to be basically useless. I'd love to find something that was more specific to my interests, but other than the multi-volume set that was posted about earlier in this thread, I don't really know of anything.
**EDIT** I found a used 2002 copy on
Amazon for $1.54 + $4 s&h, so I just went for it...I figured I probably wasn't going to be able to beat $5.50 shipped to my door for it and I really only need info on the stamps through the 70s at this point, so it doesn't need to be the most current edition.**EDIT**
I'm sure I'll definitely be posting with more questions as I have them, but I like to try to decipher things a bit as well. Thanks again for the great info!

There are about 180 stamps for Bohemia and Moravia. Most of them are relatively common, and very roughly about half will catalog at the Scott minimum. This is one of those areas where a genuinely POSTALLY used stamp is often worth more than the mint stamp! This is especially true of the first issue (15Jul1939), where a genuine postally used (not CTO) set of 19 catalogs for $80+. A MNH set of 19 is also a premium at $60.
After that, almost everything is a few dimes, with a very few stamps at a few bucks tops.
There is one uncommon overprint error in the first issue on the 1.60k denomination, where the overprint reads "Mahnen" instead of "Mahren". That stamp catalog for $32.50/$75 MH/used.

Thanks for that also! I figured they probably were not rare by any stretch, but it's good to know at least. It is interesting to see such stamps and know what was going on when they were produced.
Thanks for all of your help!
