Interesting.

A little from column A, a little from column B.

Does anyone see anything that would even approach the claimed catalog value?

Jim

I see about a $400-$450 lot at a regular auction.

But only if you collect M&Ms, which appear to be the lion's share of the value. The condition of the M&Ms does appear to be comparatively decent though. I doubt I would pay half of Bart's estimate, but I don't do M&Ms.

Not into revenues and probably overstated. Maybe he meant catalogue value? We are pushing up the number of views per hour though, making others look no doubt at what it is they are selling. That adds value for free.

For the most part the m&m's are common ones, although the condition is nice it's nothing to write home about. But they are a decent part of the value. My estimate is about what a retail dealer might pay at auction if he had enough customers to make it worthwhile.

Scrolling down the listing gets his catalogue estimate of $7500-$9000. I like the Rural America United States location.

apparently this person read the intro to the m&m section and actually believes it. Clearly he thinks all the m&m's are worth 3 to 10 times catalog. They are not. I have been studying m&m's for 48 years now; that intro might be the most poorly written one in the whole catalog. They couldn't care less.

Here is another m&m lot where the seller is taking the same attitude. It's about a $150-$175 lot.
