This is one of my favorite posts to read. I love hearing of the stamp issues we hope come out. I hope they are released a bit earlier this year!

Here are some possibilities:
Treaty of Versailles - 100 year anniv
Woodstock - 50 year anniv
Theodore Roosevelt - 100 years since his death

I think the 50th anniversary of landing on the moon is almost a definite.

What do you think?

A lot depends on the new postal rates - if any - for 2019. That said, I expect to see rates go up for both Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express. They do virtually every year. That means at least one, if not two, new high-dollar denomination stamps.

Also, in 2017, USPS announced (but ultimately did not issue) the California Dogface Butterfly stamp for non-machineable envelopes. That could finally appear in 2019 if the rates change.

1 - the last of the re-issued Lunar (Chinese) New Year series; the Year of the Boar.

2 - a new LOVE stamp

3 - perforated versions of the latest FRUITS coils; specifically the 2¢ Meyer Lemon and the 3¢ Strawberries.

In this era, a golden anniversary of an event with the magnitude of the moon landing's will likely generate multiple stamps. Of past US space-theme issues, C76 might be my favorite. I can't think of a commemorative issued more quickly after an event than C76's 51 days. Since it's listed as a memorial issue, I've never been clear if 610, released within a month of Warren Harding's death, is also considered a commemorative.

The 1818 flag stamp suggests we'll be getting a bonus flag stamp each year a star was added 200 years ago, that's in addition to the now-annual 50-star flag stamp(s), of course.

Alabama bicentennial. Maybe they'll reissue the 1869 pictorials.

I'd welcome that as long as they are printed like the Classic Forever stamps and more recently the 2018 Air Mail Blue and Red stamps---meaning intaglio.

Odd that the USPS issued the Scooby Doo stamp in 2018 considering the show premiered in 1969 and its 50th anniversary would be in 2019.

The Moon Landing is a strong contender as the US Mint is issuing commemorative coins for the occasion.

A few more possibilities from 1919 occurrences:
establishment of the Grand Canyon National Park
first non-stop transatlantic flight (not solo)
first popular film cartoon character (Felix the Cat)
creation of the American Legion

USPS is running in the red. We need all these new stamps - and the costs of production and distribution - why? We have far too many stamps of the same denomination now. The local post offices have enough to do without maintaining inventories on multiple issues of the same denomination. Henry Ford had it right - give them any color they want as long as its black.
End rant.

@uboatnut, you've made some incorrect assumptions. The USPS' cost of producing the typical new stamp is quite low, often just tens of thousands of dollars for a production run of millions of units that generates millions of dollars in revenue. Every stamp issue they do is, individually viewed, a cash cow. Of course, total stamp revenue is tiny compared to their total revenue for services, but the stamp program does not contribute to deficits. Furthermore, local postmasters have discretion to order what they think they can sell at their office. They are not forced to maintain inventories on anything. We need these stamps - why - because the public wants them. They all make money for the agency.

Perf10 that's interesting. I wasn't thinking they would keep issuing flag stamps similar to the 1818 one, but that's a good assumption.

Now that the USPS is into products and advertising - I wonder if we'll see any big companies on stamps like Coca cola and Hot Wheels.
