As a postmark collector, I want the (preferably complete) cancellation on a stamp, or on a complete cover. I am sure there are differences of opinion on this subject.

As bookbndrbob said, a complete cover is preferred. There really isn't any catalog value here to be had and really considered to be damaged pieces of covers and a poorly cut postal card.
