Has Anyone Bought From Ebay Dealers In China? Russia?

Just wondering if anyone has purchased stamps on ebay from China or Russia. How long did they take to arrive? Did they arrive? I generally avoid Russia and China (I lived in Asia for 3 years and mail took forever if it arrived) but they are the best source for early Mongolia. I took a $40 gamble (less than a dinner out with my husband) on 5 issues from the 40/50's. I can't help but wonder if I am throwing my money away.

I've bought all kinds of stuff from sellers in China, and almost always the shipping cost was free.

I don't think that I ever didn't receive what I ordered.

It usually takes some time, but I've never had a complaint with any seller from China.

That is good to hear. I lived in Asia for 3 years (Mongolia) and mail usually went through China but occasionally through Russia and it was a crapshoot if it would arrive. That was a few years ago but I can't help but wonder. If this goes smoothly I am planning to make a larger purchase.

I don't think I ever bought anything from Russia, but I did rarely purchase stamps from China and they arrived OK without any problems.

Not ebay, but I've had good luck using huasinstamps over on Hipstamps.

Don't recall ever buying from Russia or China but I did send something to Russia once. That was a bad experience.

Most ebay sellers have had their own Russian experience and many will not ship there, I am one of them.

I also avoid buying from Russian sellers. Excessively long ship times and your stuff arrives damaged often. Also as a matter of principle I stopped doing business with anyone there so long as certain activities are going on. JMO.

I thought I would update my thread. My items arrived from China today. They were packed like Fort Knox. E packet shipping from China has tracking, so I was able to see that the items shipped and they arrived from China in less than 2 weeks from purchase. I was pleased and bought a few more items. I still don't think I will press my luck with Russia.

In the last several years I have bought from over 40 countries including Russia and China, with excellent results. I think I'm addicted to opening fancy postmarked foreign mail with stamps inside!

Last 5 years or so have done a lot of business out of China(not stamps) large & small deals, many different sellers. Not one issue! Just about always check my pricing using China as a benchmark.

But I would never send anything to China or Russia or a lot of other countries for that matter.
