Hello,
Within the past few days I've found this stamp in an old family stamp album. I was attracted to it due to its side cuts and the picture being off centre.
Thanks to the internet, I've found many discussions about a 482A version, and I'm totally confused about the differences between the different types of stamps.
I'm not sure if the definition in my photo is clear, but if someone could tell me that it is most defintely not a rare stamp, it would stop me getting my hopes up!
Just to clarify, it's in an album filled by my uncle in approx. the 1930's.
Thanks from me in England, UK.

It is a type I unwatermarked 482 or a watermarked 409 with Schermack type III perforations.

To the general question posed in this forum topic, I believe any stamp is worth researching. The investigation hones your techniques and keeps you sharp, even if you discover your subject is a very common stamp. It's not the destination, it's the journey!
