I was looking at some Chinese stamps and found something that caught my attention. Please look at the photo. Can the "white hair" very visible across his top of the head, be considered an error? Is a printing defect? Error possible?
(this is part of two stamps series issued in 1987 as Liao Zhongkai)

It appears to be an internal crease, or bend from what I can see on the scan.

Looks like a crease to me too. Caused the ink to crack.

Thank you. I just did a 1200 dpi back scan and indeed it shows a crease that is not easy visible with the naked eye.

Scan the reverse you'll see a crease.
