I bought this stamp as part of a collection of Italian Colonies stamps many years ago. It is similar to several of the stamps of the Italian offices in Turkey, but does not match anything in Scott's catalogue. It is similar to Scott # 7. Could this be a clumsy forgery of #7, or might it be an unlisted provisional handstamped issue? Can anyone identify it?

Well in the absence of any reply from one of our experts, I would offer that the stamp certainly looks like a forgery to me. And not a good one...

I agree with mdroth.
It seems like the overprint was applied over the cancellation.
