I have these covers from the Channel Island during World War II. I know nothing about this area and any help as to value, authenticity would be most appreciated.

Thank you, perf12.

As the writer of the document you have linked to mentions, I don't see why it would be worthwhile to fake these items, distribute them, and then place them on sale. Very many uninformed buyers - I couldn't agree more with the tagline on the top of this page: 'Education is the key to collector success.'

WWII history is fascinating, as evidenced by movies, books, alternate history timelines (The Man on the High Castle, any Robert Harris novel), documentaries, and so on. All due to one evil man.

Thanks for the link - another one to my growing list of reference pages that I've been able to collect thanks to this forum.

Note that regarding the bogus dual franking Channel Islands/German feldpost covers here, regular soldiers mail was free -- no postage needed. Also note that the unit number in the postmark is replaced by dashes. Do any have censor marks or tapes on the back as they should if carried through the mails?

There is at least another fake special service cachet other than the boxed "SCHNELLBOOT"; anyone know what that is offhand? Schnellboot or S-boats/E-boats were fast attack boats like US PT boats or British Motor Gun Boats (MGB)/Motor Torpedo Boats (MTB).

OK,
explain "Le Guet Bung"
There's something fishy going on here.
The Guet is a 16th century watchhouse, where mail was left in a crack in the wall.

I've got these three bisect covers - I have no idea if they are genuine - I found them in an album I bought, not knowing they were there.

The top one is a first-day cover (ie, the first day bisects were authorised) and the second is a last-day cover...

I guessed the 'last day cover' was philatelic - after all, it's typed on the envelope! How can you tell the first is? Looks like it could be a legitimate letter?

Philatelic covers are genuine. They have been canceled and mailed. The only difference is that

people would send the letters to themselves or collectors because of the stamps on them.Yes; they are genuine letters. The last one is less common.
