I have been mounting some Canadian stamps and noticed that Scott seems to have a different approach to worldwide than they do US. It shows up a lot with Canada.

I see minor catalog numbers assigned for small panes, the use of p for tagged stamps, and tagged stamps are often separated from untagged and in italics.

But some things do not change. Booklet singles do not get a unique number even though they are clearly unique.

I use the online offerings from Michel, Yvert & Tellier and Stanley Gibbons, as well as the Kindle version of Maury. It's interesting how Y&T separates miniature and souvenir sheets (gotta go to the Blocs et Feuillets section) from the main section. I like the Michel and SG approach, as I don't have to jump back and forth between sections. Then again, with these two there's an actual search engine, whereas with Scott, YT and Maury you're really just flopping around with a glorified PDF.

I will be getting my new FACIT catalogs soon, and am waiting for an answer from Edifil to see if they have any plans for an online offering.

Here are some screen shots:

* Booklets (Carnets) mentioned after main listing. This varies with countries. I see GB booklets listed at the beginning of the year section in YT.

* And if the item in question deserves its own listing in BF, it is referenced when the items is described. In this case, I have to go see BF45.

* And here's BF45
