I am trying to locate the Steiner page that has a space for India Scott 422A, a 2p with star/India govt watermark. I see the spaces for the 5p variety and the unwatermarked 5p.
If this is true, then the Scott listing fails to mention that India 442A does not the currency symbol. I do not have my catalog handy but thought all the stamps in this group were listed in Scott with unique numbers so no space for 422A. I will check tonight.
Obviously here is a good example of he problems with Scott numbering and classification of stamps which make it hard sometimes to make any sense but thanks to Angore that pointed out that I had overlooked the 1975-88 as being non-denominated.
Scott lists 5 stamps as 2p reddish brown (405, 422A, 666, 666A and 667)and 4 stamps as 5p cerise (408, 423, 423A and 668) and Steiner has 3 boxes for the 2p stamps and 4 boxes for all 5p stamps.
I believe we can tell for sure that Steiner has put a box for 405 and 666, 408, 423, 423A and 668.
So Angore's first question remains as there are 2 spaces missing as we have 7 boxes for 9 stamps.
Question then: which stamp would you put in the 2nd box of the 1975-88 series: 666A or 667?
We still need 2 extra boxes for the missing stamps no matter what.
