I have this very early Victoria stamp, but there are so many variations, values, colors, perfs, rouletted, etc. that my head spins.
I know it has a heavy cancel, but some of the variations have decent value.
My questions are should I get a certification (never did this, or know little about), if I do, who should I pick for this New Zealand stamp, how much do certifications cost? What's the best way to send a stamp for certification, ie. carrier, insurance, etc.
Thanks so much for all your help in advance.

It's a forgery… It looks like a Jeffryes handywork with a watermark.

It looks to me like its a reprint. If you look at the curvature on the right side of the Y in Penny it matches the reprint.

If it actually is a reprint, who did the reprint, since its not a forgery?

The perforations are pooly done. There are many différences in the
details. The top right serif in the "E" of NEW is squared. The face is very wide. The left
half in particular. The background details are not identical. It has many small lines like the reprint ok; but The small "Y" deformation is also found in the Genuine type. below link:

I'll keep a scan of that Pmk,
I have never seen an OTAGO Pmk like that before.
Anyone have information on it?

Thank you Perf12
another member with exceptional searching skills,
I wasted half an hour searching for zilch.

The rough Pmk would suggest a forgery perhaps, by why choose a rare Marine Pmk one would have to ask.

If doodah12 would post a nice clear straight pic of the stamp it would be nice; to get this
right. In the only (official) reprints;there was no 1 penny orange vermillon.

The 1d (pale orange-worn plates-Davies printing ) was officialy reprinted imperf in 1884 for presentation purposes.(Stanley Gibbons catalog info).
