I sometimes like to use this option, usually when buying something unexpected, the APR isn't great but it helps stretch my budget. The last two times I have attempted to use this payment option I get a message that it is 'not accepted by this vendor'. Both times were for purchases from the UK. Has anyone else run into this? I wonder if ebay is trying to discourage use of this now that they are pushing their own thing.

Comments welcome.

I use it all the time, but I'm using it domestically in the U.S. This could be a conversion/taxation issue which dealers in the U.K. have opted out of.

I'm just guessing on the last.

I would contact ebay and ask the question. Someone can answer that one for you I'm sure.

Do the vendors in the UK accept Paypal?

Paypal does have a phone number you can call if you have questions 1-866-528-3733

Paypal pushes its credit option, but I've certainly never taken it up, and I assume many - perhaps most - others haven't. It may also come with a charge to the seller, which would make it still less attractive. Also, debit, rather than credit, card payments are probably the norm in the UK, given the high interest charges attached to credit cards.

I have only been able to use PPC for domestic purchases and have been declined twice when making purchases from the UK.

OK that is apparently the problem. Upon reflection both my purchases were from the UK. I absolutely know I used PP credit to buy some items from Nordfrim last year, but maybe it's just the UK where it doesn't work for US users.

It's more likely to be the size of the seller - Nordfrim's a large operation.

There is a general discontent by merchants on some of these high rewards credit cards. The credit card issuers extract higher fees to process them.

In the end, prices increase to cover those by that pay by credit. That 3% cash back or free miles does not come for free.

I ordered from the UK by PayPal last month with no problems, as well as from these, all just last month: the US, Denmark, the Ned. Antilles, Turks and kikos.
