Good luck, although I suspect that most of us will expect to pay a few pennies for view-type postcards!

The (fallible) MetroPostcard database lists P.Ledermann as 1910-1919 ... from where did you get your dates?

The best monochrome cards (excellent precision & detail) of that time are collotypes; are the first four collotypes?

As much as I like cards like these, I can usually find them in the bargain boxes (U$D 0.25) ... want some more?

I don't know what these comments aiming at...

I just like to introduce philatelic materials to people who respect them.

Just for a info (and some education), I'm going to write below an example of analysis.

The Base:
On every street worldwide, the price of the current postcards is about 1.50, no matter currency $, € or £.
On this basis, the cards from the 1970's and 1980's (the close past) can be priced at 2.00-2.50. Further, the 1950's (defined as the mid distance past), the cards of this period can be priced 3.00-3.50.
Reaching the decades 1920's, 30's and 40's, we can speak for 4.00-5.00 per card and definitely the products of the early 20th century (1900-20) lead the price to 5.00+. And this is only the starting point - the base in understanding materials that brings the history of civilization.

Then we turn to experts to add the additional value. Never forget that all these products are in some way priceless documents, so, just some brief clues:

Card 1: Karlskirche, Vienna 1914. It shows a street crossing in front of the church. Nowadays there is a garden and in this exactly place there is an oval water pool which is in famous ensemble with the church. Who created this pool? When it was placed here?!?! So we have here historic evidence captured.
The card is in basis price group 5.00+. Because of the quality detailed photo it can be fixed to 7.00. The expertise add 7.00 more. The final price is $,€,£14.00

Card 2: Schwarzenbergplatz, Vienna 1914. Wow, we have the square before placing here, exact at the centre, the Red Army monument. No need to mention some other things like developing the tramway system etc.
The card is in basis price group 5.00+. Because of the quality of the photograph it can be fixed to 7.00. The expertise add 10.00 more. The final price is $,€,£17.00

Card 3: Kursalon, Vienna 1916. Just at a glance, the experts can see the documentation of the facade of this famous building captured in the early 20th century. Many details on this facade were changed since then. The same for the garden. Priceless document when starting restorations or things like that.
The card is in basis price group 5.00+. Because of the quality of the photograph it can be fixed to 7.00. The expertise add 7.00 more. The final price is $,€,£14.00

Card 4: Thalheim bei Wels 1924. This is a small town just next to the city of Wels, seen in the background. What we have here...wow, the postcard captures the landmark Marienwarte on the hill before its extensive development. I think Bruckhofstraße (street) and Angerstraße (street) even don't exist on this photo.
The card is in basis price group 4.00-5.00. Let's take 5.00. The expertise add 10.00 more. The final price is $,€,£15.00

Card 5: I'm not going to comment the city hall and leave the card at it basis group price 4.00.

The total price for the Lot: 64.00 ($,€,£)

I've worked hard to find these cards, to collect them, to save them for the generations and to present them here with 69% discount.

Everybody who respects the history of this civilization is welcome.


P.S. Yes, I know that the regime during the last decades brings the people worldwide to shortage of cache and the field of philately is heavily stricken. That's why, I don't present a price like 49.90 which is the normal value of materials like these ones.

I normaly do not reply, but my jaw dropped so far after reading your explantion, that I had to.

I have bought an sold postcards for 30 years so I do know what I am talking about, just like many people on SCF, do not underestimate their knowledge.

Your basis is a modern price and everything older automaticly is more expensive. What you did is create a base. But this base simply does not exist.

your next level is quality of photograph. I am not sure what you mean by this the quality of the object or what is on the picture itself.

The third level is expertise. This expertise can be googled by most in a few minutes. Some legwork is nice, but to charge 5, 7 or 10 euro for such work is extreme.

I can only agree with the other posters that these cards are in a much lower price ranger. about 1 euro each is the regular price
no more.

Note that your first price for the 5 was 19,90 and there was already disbelieve. the price actually seems to be 49,90.

If you can sell them for this price I salute you.

ikeyPikey is right - you can find these cards in 25 cent to $1 boxes all day long here in the U.S. There's no short supply of them. Check ebay and Delcampe. Similar or the same cards can be had for much less than your offering. Age really is not a good actor when pricing postcards - subject matter is. Postcards from the early 1900's to 1940's can be had in bulk for 10 cents each or less if you're willing to buy hundreds to thousands at a time.

I'm not talking about prices some could buy or some can sell. This is not a knowledge.

All this is about real knowledge and defending the value of Philately and the place it deserves.

In that case if you want knowledge, the collecting and studying of postcards is called Deltiology, not Philately. No stamps nor postmarks on your cards.

Also because you are trying to sell them knowledge of what they can be bought and sold for does come into play and we're just using our knowledge and experience to let you know that they are overpriced.
