This is a Perfin stamp. I believe Perfin is short for Perforation Initials. Back in the day, companies often punched their stamps with their initials. I believe it was done as a form of advertisement, but I'm not sure. It looks like your stamp is still affixed to paper - is it still on the envelope? If it is, you may be able to associate the perfin initials to the return address. There are Perfin collectors, and some stamp collectors avoid them like the plague. Personal preference.
Yes he did. Now that I found this site I will go thru my other stamps and see if I can find anything interesting. I know more about coins so I am going to check out the coin side, maybe I can help someone there. Thanks
