Some stamps of the above were overprinted with the letter "S."
Doubts remain that they were ever used.

From an old French (Yvert) catalog

"These stamps were withdrawn after 8 days and Postal Headmaster M.Souza had S replaced by 1915.To him S meant Salvador but many people thought S actually meant Souza"
Why not?
