I was looking through thousands of stamps I have in bags (i know..boring..haha)..I came across a Scott 593 Caricature definitive stamp....I have never came across a double Doctor blade flaw ( real name ductor blade) on this stamp..Never seen it before..Kinda neat, eh..??

Interesting stamp Wert.
I have heard of "Doctor Blade" on different occasions, but have never heard of "Ductor" Blade. Where did that term come from?

Happy hunting.

I think the discussion is pointing out that they are relatively common and can occur in all types and areas, hence, not too much excitement.

Oh, no. Please post examples of whatever you would like. Excitement is contagious. Just not in this case, I guess.

Thanks all for the information. At least I was right in assuming / thinking it had German origins <G>
Interesting thread.

Hope it's okay to piggy back on this post...
Wert, I'm excited about your find!
Have you found any more?
They may be fairly common, but I've never come across any with any of my stamps... until I found these 2.
The stamp on the left is MNH, the one on the right is used.

I have a question though. In the previous examples, the doctor blade marks are vertical, but in these, it is horizontal. Does that mean these are not doctor blade marks? Or maybe these stamps are printed vertically or something.id like to know if anyone else has any examples of this flaw on their Davy Crocket stamps.

Whoops, sorry, I didn't realize this was for Canadian stamps.
Admin, could you please move to a more appropriate section if needed?

Dave, the doctor blade flaw depends on the direction of the printing as you correctly assumed
