I've looked at stampsmarter, looked at the plating info and I'm still not sure what type I have here.

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated as I try to figure out the flyspeck differences on these stamps. I think what may be throwing me off is the completeness of the ornaments at bottom.

Here's the stamp.

Okay, I take it that it's redrawn at top and bottom, then?

The term is 'recut' and yes - once at top and once at bottom. Pretty stamp.

Thanks txstamp, it was a senior moment, I guess.

I like it too. Pulled it from an APS circuit today.

Stampman, it's not flyspecking to determine the types of the one-cent 1851-61 issue (plating, however, is another matter...). It all depends on which design features you look for first. If there are recuts, then it is a Type IV, period (#9 or #23), regardless of anything else. The recuts show as darkened portions of the top and/or bottom frame lines, such as your stamp has.
