Another Specialist Society Bites The Dust?

The France and Colonies PS seems to be having a lot of issues these days. (I refer to the US group, not the one in the UK). For the past several weeks their site has been down. Not a good sign. If anyone knows what may be happening please let me know. It's time to look at dues for next year and at this rate I don't see it happening for me.

It has been like that since the end of September. I have tried to notify the secretary and a couple other officers of the club using their email addresses in the current journal but no one is replying.

Not good..

Did not know about this group as I collect St. Pierre. I hope they did not get locked out by ransome ware? I will contact Jean Jacques in St. Pierre and find out if he knows anything.


I too have been getting the microsoft security calls lately. Pretended I was online and putting in their code and nothing happened, and gave them a hard time. Burnt up their nickle on their overseas call and kept them from getting to someone else quickly. Boy did they get frustrated. I enjoyed the game, and they lost.

Email this evening from an officer of the society, it sounds as if they had no idea their site was not functioning. I must have been the only member using it, or trying to in the past month. They are working on it.

Wonder if someone saw this post?

Why don't you ask them in a return email? I am not making fun but I often see people forgetting to go to the source for answers.

I considered that but decided against it. I didn't want them to know I'd been criticizing them on a forum.

Yes I think the society is coming along just fine. Apparently no one ever goes to their website, I got the impression none of the officers had any idea it wasn't accessible.

I got a group email this morning from them. They are having issues with the host for the site. It is being worked on and they hope to have it back up soon.

Still not accessible.

No doubt someone is involved in trying to repair this. Until that happens I am holding off on my 2019 dues payment. I'd think they could have sent a broadcast email to members letting them in on what is being done to fix it.
