I am seeking stamps to create the world's largest ball of stamps. I have the time, but not the stamps. I will need over 4,655,000 stamps (give or take) to beat the record. Thank you in advance!

So, when you have completed this quest for immortality are you going to bandsaw the ball in half to prove that it is solid stamps, and not just paper scraps?

Your request does not make sense.
Do you want the largest ball? or the ball with the most stamps glued together?
Make sure you can roll the ball through your bedroom door, prior moving it to Dad's garage.
When you break the record, please indicate it is a ball of stamps, AND stationery.

Given that discrepancy, you may have already made the biggest ball .

Remball, I have seen artwork, pictures of furniture, bowls, chairs, pianos and many other things covered with stamps, even walls papered with stamps and even dresses made from postage stamps, but never someone making a ball of all things. None of these stamps would be visable in the finished product except the last applied ones. Right now it looks like an actual ball wrapped with a couple of pieces from prestamped envelopes. Are you going bowling?

If your going to try and beat a guiness world record or any other you had better take pictures of each layer or have some way of proving that it is nothing but stamps and glue. Just sayin.

And just so you know, sorry but I can't contribute to destruction of even 1 common stamp as I would rather donate them to a child beginer or a charitable cause that gets only pennies per hundreds. At least they are of some use to them.

Why not use old sales receipts to make a ball? Is there a record for that?

Mike

I am taking pictures pretty well after each gluing session. Started with A pharmacy stamp and accumulating layer by layer.

Rod, ok. I surrender as I was totally unaware of such a feat previously being done. But in fairness you did state "that it did not make sense".

But I still will not surrender my stamps.

Well normally we'd all say 'good luck' & whatever makes you happy. In this case, I would say find something a bit more productive to do with your time & energy.

Sorry - cannot donate to this 'effort' - simply unnecessary destruction of stamps.

How bad do you want to do this? Look up M10421 on the Mystic website. That should get you pretty far...

However, I cannot donate my own personal stamps as I am too attached. Not sure why you want to do this, but to each their own.
