The illustrated PSE certificate calls this stamp as a simple R151, with shortened perforations at two areas.

So, somebody got a certificate for a stamp that catalogs twenty five cents.

But then there's some weird bar coded slip that is shown, that says that this stamp (or something else entirely) is actually R135a, a vermilion error of color.

Which is apparently why the seller is asking $350 plus $14.43 for shipping for this stamp?

Perhaps an interesting way to recoup your substantial loss after submitting a stamp for certification, when what you thought something was turned out to be something else altogether?

Jim

Looks like the second image is a PSE processing label, as the number matches the cert number. However, the identification on the cert doesn't match what is on the label.

Perhaps the label is what it was submitted as, i.e., affixed before it went through expertization, and the cert is the final result?

That is how they do it. It's very confusing to the less educated collector. It's an R151. Which does not come in vermilion.

The dates on the two items suggest Dan is correct.

The label with the barcode is the inventory label from PSE. The catalog number, in this case R135a, is what the submitter claimed it to be, but was wrong.
