Books By Stanley Ashbrook Found

I recently found 2 books written by Stanley Ashbrook on ebay. I have seen the books in PDF format. I have not compared them to see if they are the same. I found these two gems from a book seller that had no idea what they were or worth (apparently) as I got the pair of books for under $15. It was the only two stamp related items he had. They are in rough shape and some water damage on the 10c book at the top but intact. I am not sure how rare the books themselves are but I and glad to own them even in the condition that they are in.

Both books have been replaced by the works on the same stamps written by Mortimer L. Neinken. Neinken's works are thought to be superior to these two works by Ashbrook. The 10c work by Ashbrook is more common than the 12c work. That being said there are always information in one book that is not carried over to later works and it is good to know the origins of information.

One thing I'll add is that I enjoy collecting the books themselves.

When I saw the other junk the guy was selling, I almost consider buying them was saving them from a horrible fate, tucked away in a box of mystery books or something worse.
