Do you use the Scott U.S. Pocket Stamp Catalogue?
Curious how and when you use this ?
Worth carrying around at a Stamp Show ? Club meeting?
I am buying some used more up-to-date catalogues and wondering if the purchase is worth it.

It's kind of a "want list" type of catalogue, but I use the Brookman catalogue for my U.S., UN, and Canada want list -- the older smaller size, not the current enormous size. Easy to carry. No reason the small Scott catalogue couldn't do that, but to me it's too bulky compared to the older small-size Brookman. I have no idea why Scott makes it so thick?

The word "pocket" is a misnomer. It had a hard cover and mid-sized. It does lay flat and has major varieties with some minor ones especially errors (something I think most users would not care about) along with images. The challenge is that when it first came out there were a lot fewer stamps issue.

The old "Blackbook" was closer to something that would be easy to carry but it did not have Scott prices. In my early days I had one of these. Since it was perfect bound I was able to remove early pages and later pages so it was quite small.
