I have looked through approx. 30,000 O.H.M.S. tamps and this is the first of a kind oddity I have came across.

There is a separate perf pin hole way out of alignment as you can see in the pictures I posted..Question is what could have caused this oddity..?

Robert

Robert, you have to recognize that any perforated OHMS stamp is suspect because of the fabrications of Roy Wrigley.

Hey Robert. As you know, random pin holes are fairly common in older stamps. It is certainly possible that in examining so many perforated OHMS stamps that you have simply come across some with other random pin holes that are not associated with the OHMS perfs. I notice that in your two examples the stray perf holes do match exactly with the regular OHMS perfs. Your second example looks distinctly bigger than the other perfs.

Would be interested to know if anyone else has heard of these stray perfs.

Hi Jarnick,

I was wondering what you meant by your Roy Wrigley comment. I am aware that a great number of fake OHMS perforated stamps exist, especially the 5-hole type. I am also aware of Roy Wrigley as the collector and author of several guides and catalogues related to Canada's official stamps.

I was not aware of any "fabrications" attributed to Roy Wrigley. Are you suggesting he has supplied incorrect information or actual faked stamps on the market? I know there is a great deal of worry and risk in collecting these often faked issues and would be interested to know any information or sources for further information you may have on this topic.

Fake..Well of I was going to fake a stamp to get money, it sure would not be 0235 (5 cent)...I would fake O239 or O240 to make 10 to 15 times as much.

Still investigating WHY the single pin..Any opinions welcome guys,

I have 3 so far out of 33.000 of these pefins..Still looking.

Robert
