These may not even be first days but these don't have a return address on them. The envelopes were never sealed so it's got me wondering. I use Mystitc for my stamp research and don't see any 1933 Washingtons. Let me know what you think (or know). Thanks

Scott 720 (perf 11 x 10.5) was issued June 16, 1932. Maybe John was after the city names: Joy and Wave.

Ok. My other question without posting another topic is that I have several first days that do not have the special first day envelopes with logos. They just have the first day of issue cancellation on them. Are these more or less common than the ones with the special first day envelopes?

Postal Bulletin #16117, dated March 6, 1933 lists Wave, AR to close effective March 31, 1933. Thus a "last day" postmark.

PB #16106, dated Feb 16, 1933, lists Joy, IL, RR3 being condensed into routes 1 & 2, effective March 31, 1933. So this cover may have been a failed attempt to get a last day of rural route marking. But would also be sought by some collectors of thematic town names.

It depends. If older FDC's then I would expect them NOT to have the pretty logos on them, so more common without. New FDC's, I would expect them to have logos on them, so less common without. As far as value ... some people collect them for the logos, some don't. If you have some examples, please post them.

Ok, sorry. I just posted another topic about these with a photo.
Thanks, Steve
