US #26, Missing Upper Left Triangle

I took this image on my phone very quickly tonight at the local Nashville Philatelic Society twice-monthly meeting. The stamp was in am APS circuit book, and the owner had this marked as a $600 CV, and marked with a $150 price. He also had a note written on the page that it is not listed in Scott.

Any of the 3c enthusiasts here ever seen one of these, and is the $150 price tag out of line? I'm not interested in the stamp, but one of the members in our club who collects EFO's is interested-- I told him that I'd post this to see if anyone was familiar with the variety.

I've seen similar stamps. This example could be a combination of plate wear and a weak entry. Remember that the upper left triangle is the most frequently recut area because it never transferred very strongly to the plate. I don't think the stamp is worth anything extra.

I'm confused (go figure). Doesn't CV stand for Catalog Value? Which catalog values this stamp at $600? By his own statement it's not Scott...

Can't speak for how the person priced the stamp....it was pretty neat looking, though. Almost reminded me of the August issue for the 12c Scott #69, with no corner ornaments.
