When Did France Stop Using The Diamond Grill Cancel?

I have a 40c Ceres stamp with a grill cancel (Scott 7) issued in 1850. Since it is very similar to the French Colonies stamp issued in 1871, I am thinking that the cancel shows it to be the 1850 issue. I don't think the colonies used the diamond grill cancel. Is that true?

Ended in 1852 so your 40c is the Ceres issue.No grill on the Colony stamps.
