ebay never ceases to amaze me. Can't believe this piece with some serious creases and thinning closed at £132. It also neither has a numbered Maltese cross nor a wotton MX.

Wouldn't the fact it has nice margins and is AA have something to do with the price?
Perhaps £50 would of been reasonable…. The old story of "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder".

One diagonal crease is visible on the stamp face. For the good margins and fine MX, I would put a value of £100 if it had just one of the horizontal creases. Thinning decreases the value of a stamp drastically, so I wouldn't pay even £50 for it. Again the few bidders who put in 35 bids must have seen the beauty of this stamp and prepared to overlook whatever fault it has.

I wouldn't have parted with that much either. Crease affecting front and rear - might have been more acceptable if it didn't shown through.

Also thinned.

Not for me.

I must say that good 4 margin 1840 tuppenny blues are really hard to come by anywhere at a good price. Dealers are already selling those with bends and crease for £200 upwards.
