I assume this is probably something common but I only have the Scott's specialized catalog which doesn't list differences in watermarks. This is a Queen Victoria four pence issue from Dominica which should be the ordinary watermark crown over CC. On this stamp the crown appears at the bottom and the CC is totally missing. In addition there is a straight line above the CC which appears to be a crease In the photo but really is part of the watermark. Any information would be appreciated.

Looks like you have a marginal variety (probably upper margin). The Crown CC watermark is misplaced downwards, and will be offset on all other stamps. The horizontal line would usually only be seen in the sheet margin.

It's not a listed variety but definitely worth keeping as an oddity. The first time I saw this kind of watermark it confused the living daylights out of me.

Thanks for your reply. I suspected that it was some type of margin stamp but it was the line that really confused me. I'll give it its own page in my small Dominica collection.
