Odd looking Machin here. At left and right, the screening is very clear - much clearer than on normal Machins and the central phosphor band is more clearly visible than normal. Is that what stamps on uncoated paper look like? (If so, it would presumably be Connoisseur Catalogue #31UC.)
The Deegam Machin handbook indicates the uncoated paper variety is from a sheet. Your stamp looks to be from a booklet, as evidenced by the cut perforation tips on the left and bottom.
In addition, the damaged area at the lower left seems to show some flaking of the surface coating.
I don't believe this is the uncoated paper variety.
I examine the stamp with a strong magnifying glass or with a microscope. I look for cracking around the perforation holes. Most times, I see chips of the surface coating are missing, exposing the paper fibers beneath. Seeing these things, the stamp probably has some sort of surface coating.
