Could you be a bit more specific, like what stamp, or post a picture,

Peter

Regarding EBS, This was how it was listed on ebay. I've bought a lot of stamps on ebay and I've never seen this before. I thought it could possibly mean " ebay Sales" or something similar. But I've seen it on other sites as well. A Google search didn't give me an answer.

Michel lists ETB (Ersttagblatt/first day page), but no EBS. Have not seen this one before.

I figured out what EBS means. In his ebay listings, the seller precedes each item with "EBS" then the cat. number. The seller is from Australia and his company is "Emerald Books and Stamps". I really don"t know why he lists them like this. Anybody's guess.

shellback, you're right. It's the way Emerald Books and Stamps start all their listings. I think it's so buyers can get up-front seller ID.

There are other sellers who use this abbreviation. It's because they are using EBS's original listing to save time. They probably don't know what it means but they keep it anyway. Here's what one seller from the UK said to me:

Quote:
When add item to ebay if find similar you can follow similar item save time I'm just forget delet EBS

It's similar to how junk DNA ends up in our genome.
