I plan to sell this eventually, but as it's only a part strike I have no idea what price to set for it. It's [SY]DNEY HARBO[UR BRIDGE] on the 3d Macarthur. Most people know about the Sydney Harbour Bridge opening day covers of 1932, but they probably don't know that there was a post office by this name at the Bridge from 1934 to 1942. Strikes from this office seem to be very rare and I haven't been able to find one on cover.

Until I decide what to do with it, I can't resist showing it off here:

Hi jimjamtwo

Very interesting cancellation, all stamps with postmarks of the Sydney Harbour Bridge Post Office is quite scarce and very seldom seen on the market. I'll try and see if I can find a current value for that stamp.

Scarcity of a stamp does not always mean a golden egg, but who knows, pity it wasn't on a cover.

Rob

Well spotted PostmasterGS! The writing on the back tells us that the office was located in the south pylon. I'd buy it if I wasn't skint!

I did some research into this and found that Premier Postal offered a partial strike in Auction 59, which was quite some time ago. But the item was withdrawn before the auction concluded, so no price is available.
