This seller is based in Argentina and has a lot of interesting Russia covers for inexpensive amounts. He is asking $14 shipping, apparently per cover, nothing on his listing about combined shipping.
I'd bet this is a seller participating in ebay's wonderful Global Shipping program. Have to wonder if he's noticed any decrease yet in sales.
OK, maybe this is not as excessive as it seems at first glance.
The Global Shipping program is being used by a number of sellers with the result that their offerings are being priced out of the market for many of us.
I have a longtime friend who is an ebay Seller of Stamps & Covers and he absolutely WILL NOT use the Global Shipping Program. He used it initially and had nothing but irate customers and stopped using it. He felt it was a rip-off. Sorry, meant to post this earlier before. I had to check with him if this post was the same program he used when first offered.
But this seller is not using GSP, so I'm not clear how that's relevant to the original post.
I would think a larger issue is that the seller's profile says they are based in the United States, while this item is in Argentina. I guess they could have material around the world which, when sold to US buyers, they bring into the US and then re-ship, but it seems fishy.
It doesn't say much in his listings about combined shipping. If someone were to order a few of these covers it might be worth it. But $14 each, no way.
I've bought from him before.Prices generally start out low but the bids accumulate… He sends the covers in well protected large envelopes. (Registered of course).
