Raftender, it may be helpful for you to start a new topic with your coil question. It didn't seem to have been answered, likely because it's a little different than the topic of this thread. It may also be helpful to have closer images of the coil in question as well for it to be scrutinized more closely.

Recently acquired this old cover. It is a letter from Enos Hitchcock of Providence, Rhode Island to Congressman Benjamin Bourne regarding an acquaintance who owes him money named Mr Emory. Enos Hitchcock mentions in the letter that Mr Emory also owes money to Mr Greenno and has been sued by him and the case is on appeal in Philadelphia. This case, I have found, became a Supreme Court case decided in 1798 titled Emory v Greenough. I sent a copy of this letter to the Rhode Island Historical Society and received a reply from them today which included a copy of Congressman Benjamin Bourne's response to this letter. Seems documents in the Enos Hitchcock collection had been donated to the Rhode Island Historical Society at some point in the past. This, as outgoing correspondence was not part of that collection.

The letter is dated January 14, 1796. Congressman Benjamin Bourne's response is dated January 26, 1796. The Rhode Island Historical Society copy has "Not to be Reproduced Without Written Permission" on it. I don't think I can post it.

The instructions for delivery of this cover is unusual:

Don't think it would fly today. You'd get it back No Mail Receptacle.

According to the US Census their population was 224 in 2010. Town was founded in 1768. Windsor NH was probably a wide spot in the road in 1839.
