Whiteface Mountain Rural Station was a station of Lake Placid, NY from July 1962 to November 1971. I found this cancel on a post card. I would like to know what the wording was at the top of the cancel. And why it was probably excised.

I have looked in the NY section of the W-T CD from the Postmark Collectors Club but didn't find any similar examples.

Any rural station I have seen from this era has the parent PO name at the top - thus Lake Placid. I have not seen one which was likely cut-out.
