It will be interesting to see what it goes for. I might actually take a trip to Sparks to take a look. How full are the albums? The binders look to be in amazing shape as if they were not used much but one never knows. Does size really matter? We shall see.

Size only matters if there is quality as well. Obviously it must be a lot of individual countries or small natural groupings, but if it is all kiloware.........

I always find this "all-dressed-up-like-a-well-kept-grave" look a bit depressing. Your stamp collection given the look of a lawyer's bookcase. Would like to see the stamps, though.

There has been much discussion about albums but wonder how using such large albums can be enjoyable to use on a regular basis. They are huge. Do the pages lay flat? Are stamps on single or double sided?

rogdcam - Where'd you get the heads up on the Sparks auction? I usually get an email announcement from them, and there's no sign of it on SAN. And I thought they were going to hold an auction in early 2019. Egad...I hope I don't have to wait until May...love, love, love their auctions !

Doc - Look on their homepage under News. There is a January auction as well. I love Sparks especially with the exchange rate.

I see their January sale has a collection of worldwide #1s.

That would be an interesting lot.

Very nice collection ,94 albums . I want to drive up to view it ,impressive .

But first a few major questions need to be asked or answered .
FIRST --Is it intact ,or has it been cherry picked .
Second -- Is it ALL DIFFERENT and how many ,I can make 94 volumes with my duplicates . Third -- How much was spend on the pre-1960's stuff or is it a new issue collection .

All those binders look too NEW to be the "working" ones ,did the owner go out and replace his old ones .

I don't want to take away from such a massive collection but with out answers to the above it could be a $50.00 per album collection or it could be a $250,000 collection if we could answer the above questions .
