Good Afternoon Everyone,

I have a stamp with "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" in yellow and black, "1 R-Mark" that is perforated 11 - I can't find match on online and I'm hoping someone here can help.

Thanks everyone!

It's a municipal fee stamp from the city of Rothenburg. Dates to the late thirties/early forties.

Not in the Michel Private Post
What German Revenue Catalogue ?

I note Rothenburg arms exists on German emergency money, and the HAG Coffee cinderellas, I thought I had some in my collection but dashed if I can find.
Any links to the HAG Coffee stamps, anyone?

Rod,

As with most things German revenue-related, the answer is Martin Erler. The final numbered volume of his series of revenue catalogs is Vol XVIII - Gemeindegebührenmarken / Municipal Fee Stamps. It's a 20-part volume listing the municipal fee stamps of a huge number of German cities.

The stamp shown above would be in the "R" sub-volume.

However, as you can see from this scan, the lower values are listed, but not the 1 Reichsmark value. This is not uncommon with certain volumes of Erler. The sheer volume of possible revenues and the lack of any real cataloging system at the time means that there are often gaps and unknown issues of which Erler himself was unaware or didn't list for some reason.

Remarkable Postmaster.
Thanks for showing us the depths of German philately.
Herr Ehler, must have devoted his life to this work.
Extraordinary.
You must be hardly ever at a loss, for something to do.
What a challenge you took on.
