I found this in a lot.

It is around perf 12¼ (not 14) and color looks more lilac rose not rose. The perfs are not in the best shape.

This would be a Scott 2.

Thoughts?

Hello

I would suggest that it is 1870 1d (Magenta), which is SG 2 issued 1871. Gibbons listing states 'shades', so I would suggest that it is more or a darker magenta shade. (There are also three watermark varieties, sideways, inverted and reversed).

Hope this helps, happy New Year

The catalogues list these as perf. 12½

There were a total of 79,660 of this colour printed, in sheets of 20 (5x4).
