Hi

Have this stamp I have been unable to catalog using Scott Catalog. Does anyone have an idea on a proper identification?

Thank you. Saw the listing in Scott but had no idea what Granite paper was. Also have this stamp with a Smirne postmark without date. Nothing seemed unusual about the paper on either one.

Granite paper has obvious colored threads in the paper. You can see lots of threads in the photo that you posted. If you look from the back you should see them very clearly.

2nd row, 1st stamp.
Mine has full gum, yet cancelled....either a forged Pmk or CTO.

Granite Paper.
(Some stamps / countries, you have to look very hard to see the tiny coloured threads)

According to an old Stanley Gibbons I have, there are 11 perforation varieties of this stamp. Unfortunately the perf 10½ is the least expensive.
