I recently started getting into Vatican City Specialized.
So I got myself a "Sassone specializzato".

And under the first emission it says in a little box that "Mostly" all stamps before 1956 can be found with a "SAGGIO" overprint (Sovvrastampi) or perfin.

So I started looking and I found different colors, different orientations and different letter types.

And SAssone doesn't have a reference picture.
So what does a good "SAGGIO" overprint look like ?
Any help will be appreciated.
(Also still seeking help regarding Sassone 13b)

Thanks in advance and happy new year,

Julius

Here's a Sass. 1 with thin black lettering

And here's a Sass. 1 with thick red lettering

Hi: Saggio are essays(trial proofs).Italian stamps like the Vatican have many.

These were Distributed by postal authorities as the first printings with possible variations
in the color.Sometimes they were private printings;for instance the artist who created the stamp design. They are similar too proofs with a limited number distributed before the massive printings that would follow.
In the case of Vatican stamps;there were some "Saggio" that were not overprinted "Saggio". These stamps were never issued. They command substantial premiums.
