Hi all! I'm back again at least for a few days. I found this one in my grandfathers/fathers stamps. I didn't see it in my Scott catalogue and looked around online and couldn't find it anywhere. Please, if you have seen it would appreciate at least a catalogue # for it. I believe it is a revenue stamp(?), but thats all I have on it right now.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Interesting. Gebühren translates to "be due", so I'm thinking it's a tax stamp, but can't really say for sure, other than it's definitely a Revenue stamp.

WpgLwr- thanks for backing up my thoughts that it is a revenue stamp. Other than that I have hit the "brick wall" on this one.

Hello robin....

....nice to hear from you again......hope it becomes a habit.

Nice stamp....it's not in Scott under Bavaria....but Scott does not list most worldwide revenues. You're going to need a German specialized catalog. There are a few German collectors here....maybe one will recognize this stamp.

Robin.... I sent a scan to my German buddy, and here is his reply. Please keep in mind that English is a second language for him.

Well,

its a tax stamp from old Bavaria, will be printed so betwheen 1870 and 1910, used also for "additional costs" in many many directions like fees for bureaucrathy + + +

Not listed in the Michel but often to find here, low price just used per pencil line.

I almost forgot they also come with the "Freistaat Bayern" Overprint. I have a nice block of 12 with the 1Mark(red).

Edited for poor typing skills
